Geentanjali Chakraborty

Geetanjali, a NAMA-certified AD, specializes in leveraging diet and lifestyle as the primary pillars of holistic health. Central to her Ayurvedic philosophy is the idea of harmonizing with one’s natural environment, advocating for the cultivation of personal herbal gardens rooted in local conditions. Beyond functional health benefits, Geetanjali emphasizes the profound mental well-being gained from nurturing a relationship with healing plants, integrating them as cherished members of one’s family. She chairs the Election Committee and co-chairs the Professional Committee, focusing on programs that deepen Ayurvedic professionals’ and enthusiasts’ connection with local flora.

Renée Davenport, AP CMP | Past Treasurer

Renée Davenport AP CMP is an Integrated Wellness Practitioner in Los Angeles, California. She is a certified Ayurveda Wellness Practitioner graduated from Kerala Ayurveda Academy in August 2010 and completed a month long internship with Kerala Ayurveda at Ayurvedagram in Bangalore and Cochin, India. Renée is also a California licensed massage practitioner who was trained and certified in Neurosoma a NCBTMB approved technique of massage.

Anupama Kizhakkeveettil, BAMS, MAOM, LAc, CMT, PhD

Anupama Kizhakkeveettil is an Ayurvedic Doctor from India, licensed acupuncturist, yoga teacher and Professor at Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU). She is the Program Director for Ayurvedic Medicine at SCU and has been teaching and practicing Ayurvedic medicine over 18 years and traveled extensively in various countries to propagate Ayurveda.

Manju Kolli | President

She has had extensive experience supervising 100 employees while working as a Pharmacy supervisor. She also has experience working and producing events at several non-profit organizations including but not limited to Art of Living, Jeeyar Education Trust.

She currently serves as the President of California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine. In addition to this she is also a faculty at UK School of Ayurveda and has also presented at numerous workshops and conferences.

If she is not doing any of the above you would see her volunteer and teach Bhagavad Gita at The Jeeyar Education Trust to protect our ancient scriptures.

A mother of two boys, she is a native of India and has lived in the United States for the past 22 years. Her keen interest in protecting and preserving ancient Vedic culture has led her to building and flourishing her Ayurvedic practice.

Mamta Landerman, CAS | Past President

Mamta Landerman is a Clinical Ayurveda and Pancha Karma Specialist. She is the Founding President of The California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM) and served on its Board for five years since 1998. In February 2018 Mamta was invited to run CAAM again and currently serves on its Board as President.

Hema Natarajan | Treasurer

Hema is a versatile professional seamlessly blending the roles of an accomplished engineer, MBA professional, and an enthusiastic student of Ayurveda. With a track record of over two decades excelling in the dynamic field of technology, Hema has led successful product teams and driven innovation. However, her quest for deeper well-being led her to the ancient principles of Ayurveda, sparking a passionate journey. Hema is heading both the Website and Fundraising Committees.

Jessica Garcia Scharer, AHC

Jessica is an Ayurveda Health Counselor and End of Life Doula in Long Beach California. Jessica has been supporting and volunteering with CAAM since 2021. She joined the CAAM Board last year and heads the Marketing and Communications Committee and manages THRYV with CAAM’s Ayurveda Business Program “Embodying Entrepreneurship: A Step-by-Step Guide to a Successful Ayurveda Practice”.

Mary Thompson CAS PKS | Secretary

Mary Thompson is an experienced educator and a heart-centered mentor to Ayurvedic practitioners. Having taught Ayurveda for over twenty years, she continues to find joy in supporting her students as they step into their professional lives as Ayurvedic Health Counselors and Ayurvedic Practitioners. Through individual mentorship and online continuing education, she maintains a supportive relationship with both new and experienced practitioners.
